Online Drawing In The 21st Century
General Information:
How have our ideas and practice concerning drawing changed? What is included in drawing? How can we initiate and sustain a daily drawing practice that will contribute to our artwork?
Drawing in the 21st Century is an ongoing class, offering a variety of ways to create a sustainable drawing practice through abstract and/or representational drawing. Drawing classes meet weekly on Zoom to discuss artist interviews, practice drawing skills and look at each student's work in response to assignments or in pursuit of individual ideas. In addition, classes have access to a Drawing Resource Page, tailored for each class topic, which feature a wide range of contemporary drawings, artist interviews, videos and links. The Abstract Drawing Materials Page includes resources for dry, wet and wet/dry drawing materials as well as useful papers and sketchbooks. Both Zoom and Padlet are easy to use and requires no special computer skills. Drawing classes are lively and interactive, encouraging development of interesting directions and ideas in the service of creating a useful drawing practice.
